Fletcher and I did an R&D trip to northern Chile, and the surf never got small. I saw him get one of the biggest waves I'd ever seen ridden down there. That's when I knew he was legit and that I could trust him to make me equipment for waves of serious consequence.
Working with Fletcher has been a really rewarding process. It’s all about understanding what he sees in each design compared with what I feel on the waves. The more we learn, the more we’re able to refine each board we’re working on. And for me, that’s where the fun lies.
I’ve had a 6'1" DM3 with me in all sorts of conditions for the last two years, from mellow surf in frigid waters to serious waves in the tropics. It’s a quality all-rounder, and my pick when I can only bring one board. On a desert island, that board is the only thing I want.
